As time goes by...

Alhamdulillah Ayesha Amani dah berumur 36 hari.  Time passes by far too quickly.  Si kecik ni dah makin banyak menyusu sampai mummy dia rasa macam tak berjaya untuk provide the right amount of milk for her everytime. 

Breastfeeding Update

Masalah menyusu, walau satu persatu timbul, sedang cuba diatasi.  I am doing the best I can.  I only know two people close to me that are fully breastfeeding: my sister in law and my dearest friend Timmy.  Jadi Alhamdulillah sikit- sikit dapat tips, and even though I am not exclusively breastfeeding, I managed to finally make breastfeeding a wonderful experience.  I wanted bonding with my child, and bonding is what I got.  Ayesha Amani now knows me better and just love cuddling up to me, and can now differentiate between mummy and others. 

I overcome the problem with milk supply, though not completely, but Alhamdulillah so far cukup untuk puaskan hati sendiri.  My sister in law taught the correct technique to express milk using Medela Swing.  I finally managed to store bit by bit in the freezer. So it wasn't that hard.  Yang penting juga dalam memerah susu ni, mesti mau rajin.  Kadang- kadang vitamin 'M' tu kuat jugak.  Tapi dipaksakan juga diri yeeehaaaa.

I also managed to make Ayesha Amani latched on properly.  My dear friend introduced The First Years Breastflow bottle.  Teat dia menyerupai nipple ibu, and it is slow flow.  Therefore it requires suction by baby.  Once Amani started using this bottle, dah suction dia dah improve.  Walaupon she still couldn't get it right sometimes and had caused nipple to crack several times, tapi dia dah tau yang lebih seronok menyusu dengan mommy dari those artificial nipple!  The point is this bottle helped Ayesha Amani to learn better suction- she learned that in order for her to get milk, she must suck harder from this teat. So when I put her onto my breast, she applies the same technique. Result:- both mother and baby are happy!

I suppose perkembangan setiap baby tu berbeza.  Aku pun tak sure nak benchmarkan dari mana, even though I have read alot about baby's development.  I noticed that Amani is now more alert of her environment.  She knows what she wants.  She doesn't like noises, bright light, and hot weather. Bila petang je mulalah nak kena buka seluar baju.  Aduhai, nanti balik KL kat rumah mummy ada air cond,don't worry ok Amani.  She gets cranky when she's hot.  

 

Dia dah makin kurang hisap jari.  Her feeding pattern is more structured, so does her sleeping pattern.  Haih tapi kadang- kadang perangai dia menjadi- jadi juga.  Kalau dia taksedap perut sikit, memang merengek tak ingat.  Nak duduk kat tangan je, atau nak bergayut menyusu sampai muak.  Kesian jugak, macam baru- baru ni bila dia bloated dan constipated.  Aduhai merengek je kerja dia.  Memang aku nak buang air , makan, semua kena berlari- lari.  Kalau ambil gambar pulak, confirm akan dapat aksi berbeza- beza dari princess. 

 

 

 

Oh lagi satu perangai baru Amani.  Bila bangun menyusu kali ke dua, dia susah nak tidur semula.  Seriously it is so hard to put her back to sleep!  She wanted to stay cuddling in my arm, boleh?  So I figured I have to put her down in a way she couldn't feel or notice.  So that when I put her down she'll think that she is still in my arm.  So I tried this: biarkan dia tidur atas lengan sampai dia terpejam which isn't long.  It only takes 5 minutes for her to close her eyes and drift back to sleep when this happens.  So now almost every night when she wakes up for her second milk and unable to go back to sleep, I will do this and watch her sleep like a princess.  

 

Apapun, dalam seminggu dua lagi dah nak habis pantang.  Next Friday selamat lah 44 days of confinement.  Alhamdulillah badan terasa sihat, dan semoga dijauhkan sebarang penyakit ke atas anakku.  

 

Dan semoga akan ada masa terluang lagi untuk update blog ni.  Amani dah bangun untuk menyusu!  Taaaaaa....
